Handover 100,000 face masks to Ministry of Federal Territorie for frontliners and vulnerable groups

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia and the Association Belt and Road Malaysia handed over 100,000 face masks to the Ministry of Federal Territories, to support Covid-19 frontliners, as well as vulnerable groups such as poor families who live in the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.


The face mask handover event witnessed a collaboration between the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, the Association Belt and Road Malaysia, and the Ministry of Federal Territories, a concerted efforts of Malaysia and China to work together to fight the Covid-19 outbreak.


The Ministry will be responsible to distribute these face masks to the Covid-19 frontliners who on duty around the clock in the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, but also vulnerable groups who were in hardship during the MCO. The beneficiaries included the police force, the army force and local government officer on duty, poor families, underprivileged orphans and elderly. Kuala Lumpur has been identified as one of the severely affected areas by the COVID-19 outbreak.


This is in conjunction with the launch of the “Malaysia-China Berganding Bahu, Melawan Wabak COVID-19” campaign, a social welfare collaboration program between the Embassy of The People’s Republic of China in Malaysia and the Association Belt and Road Malaysia, and co-organised by the Pahang Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation, Malaysia Dry Foodstuff Importer and Exporter Association, and Malaysia-China Culture and Arts Association.


H.E. Bai Tian, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Chong Chin Fung,, Vice President of Malaysia Belt and Road Malaysia cum the Organising Chairman of this campaign, among others, have made their presence in today’s handover ceremony, to handover face masks to YB Tan Sri Annuar Hj Musa, the Minister of Federal Territories.
